Inside a segment

The segment detail panel: summary, insights, defining features, and persona for a single group of customers.

Selecting a segment on the landscape opens its detail panel on the right half of the screen: everything Neuralift knows about that group of customers, organized into tabs. Read the tabs in order and you get the segment’s full story: what it is, what’s notable about it, what data defines it, and who these customers are as people. What to do about the segment lives one tab over, in Actions, where each play links back to the segments it targets.

The tabs

TabWhat it holds
SummaryA narrative overview plus the segment’s ranked KPI priorities.
InsightsNotable, confidence-ranked observations about the segment.
Defining FeaturesThe data features that most distinguish this segment.
PersonaA narrative portrait of the typical customer in the group.

Each tab appears as an icon in the panel’s tab strip; hover an icon for its name.

Summary

The Summary tab opens with a written overview of the segment, then lists the KPI priorities for this segment: your use case’s KPIs ranked for this specific group, each rated by expected lift as high (strong signal and large headroom), medium (partial signal or constrained headroom), or low (speculative or niche), with a short rationale for the rating. This is the fastest way to decide whether a segment matters for the goal you set in the use case definition.

Insights

Insights are individual observations worth knowing about the segment, sorted with the highest-confidence findings first. Each insight shows a headline and a type label; expand it to read the full detail. Use insights to understand why the segment coheres before you act on it.

Defining Features

The Defining Features tab lists the top 25 data features that most distinguish this segment from the rest of the population. Defining features help you interpret and investigate a segment; for authoritative membership, use the delivered segment labels; see Delivering results.

Persona

The Persona tab renders the segment as a person: a written portrait of the typical customer in the group. Personas are the shorthand your wider team will remember when you brief people who never open Neuralift.

What to do about the segment

Recommendations don’t live in the panel: the run-level plays and the per-segment evidence behind them are on the Actions tab. Each action plan unfolds into the segment tactics that motivated it — scored, evidence-backed recommendations for the segments the play targets — and links back here when you want the persona and insights behind a group.

Renaming a segment

Segments arrive with generated names. Neuralift can rename a segment for you (a Rename segment control appears next to the panel title for Neuralift’s team), so if a name doesn’t match how your business talks about the group, ask your Neuralift contact to change it. See Roles & permissions for who does what.

Note. Summaries, insights, and personas are AI-generated and reviewed as guidance, not gospel. The app itself reminds you that the Neuralift AI assistant can make mistakes. Check important figures against your own data before committing budget.
